HOW TO START NEW CASTANETS

Maybe you’ve seen our videos online and thought:

“Wait… could I actually do this too?” 💙

So here’s a simple guide to help you understand how New Castanets work, how to start, and what to expect:

This used to be a little family secret... Now we decided to make the family bigger 💙

A modern way to play castanets through rhythm, improvisation and music you actually love.

This technique was created by my dad - a guitarist and teacher who believed music should feel alive from the very beginning, not stressful or academic. Together, we turned castanets into something playful, expressive and open even for complete beginners.

 1. CAN I DO IT?

Can you clap to a song?

Let’s try it 💙

Put your favorite song into your headphones and clap like you would at a concert.

That’s it.

A lot of people think rhythm is some magical talent you either have or you don’t.

But very often, people already feel rhythm naturally, at least in a simple form 💙

And with the right guidance and the right steps, that sense of rhythm can grow surprisingly well over time.

Now that you know you can start 😄

But...

 2. YOU NEED TO KNOW HOW!

To make learning feel joyful and natural, it really helps to have guidance.

My dad created this method to make castanets approachable for real people, not just professional musicians.

The goal is:

• to build things step by step,

• not get overwhelmed,

• and actually enjoy the process 💙

 3. WHAT CASTANETS SHOULD YOU GET?

Remember: the instrument matters.
But the way you learn matters even more 💙

You have two options:

1. Choose our New Castanets designed specifically for our technique

We handmake our castanets only for our students 💙

You can get them together with the online course as part of the Beginner Kit

2. or buy castanets from a local music store

 4. YOU DON’T HAVE PRACTICE FOR HOURS

Please don’t torture yourself 😄

In the beginning, shorter practice is often much better.

10–15 minutes a day is enough.

The goal is not to survive practice.

The goal is to want to come back tomorrow. 💙

5. LEARN WITH SONGS YOU LOVE

Music first. Always.

A lot of people quit instruments because they spend months practicing things they don’t emotionally connect to.

That’s why we start with real music from the very beginning.

Because maybe we can quit practicing…

but stop enjoying our favorite songs? 😄

Absolutely not.

6. If this world feels like something you’ve been looking for… we’d love to welcome you 💙

You can start wherever feels right for you.
No pressure. No rush 🌱

The online course stays open until the end of June before enrollment closes again. 🌙
